I'm about to embark on the task of installing a headliner in my '73 SB. I've done just about everything else, but never a headliner. Anybody got a good video or write-up how-to? _________________ '65 Karmann Ghia 'vert

Don't have a video but I bought mine from Jegs and they had a video that was pretty informative.
Two things I learned. The first was to install the headliner before you put the body back on. It was much easier because I could stand up and walk around. Of course if your body is still on then you'll be doing a lot of crawling around.
The second and most important is that all contact cement is not created equal. Mine came with glue from jegs but I figured they sent the cheapest stuff they could find so I tried to use my Weldwood contact cement thinking name brand would be better. Bad mistake. It will not hold the headliner in place when you get it stretched out. Get some upholstery glue with a high tack.
TIP: Glue a little 1/2" wide strip of cardboard on the little tabs that hold the headliner over the door openings. Then glue the headliner to the cardboard when you stretch it in and that will hold it while you tuck it into the tabs and bend them down. _________________ My 72 Baja http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=492102
