Just curious, what year bus had that really cool pop up camper roof for camping. Are they rare and about how much does a good one cost (runs good little rust etc) not show room?

The small poptop from Westphalia started in sometime in 64. Ive seen the small ones on bay windows as late as 70. The bigger poptops
started in 68, these take about 3/4s of the roof. What year bus are you intrested in?

They are not rare, in fact they are probably the most common of the VW campers. They are 99.9% all bay window Busses from years 68-79 and going on into Vanagons. I say 99.9% because I'm sure there are some custom or rare split windows that have a large roof section like the later Busses do. A doormobile is the biggest thing I've ever seen on a splitty though.

Search this site and you will get a good idea of what the prices range from. Any where from $500 to $10K depending on year and condition.
