I have been looking for a mini bike frame to modified for the MAC racing (old foggies like myself racing & riding them in So/ Calif.) and after buying a Steen's Taco...several guys told me to restore that and don't cut it up.
So i went to a mini bike yard sale today this one caught my eye and I fit on it better. Turns out it is a Myer's MANX mini bike built for Bruce Myer's buggy shops by Steen's in Alhambra (where Taco's were built).
So it was a marriage made in VW / Mini bike land!

I remember the Steen shop on Valley when I was a kid. My dad bought a Taco 22 in 1967 and I still have it.
Post a pic of your Taco if you have one. |

Werksberg, PM me and I can get you in personal contact with my old neighbor, Bruce and Winnie Meyers.
He may be interested in your new minibike, if nothing else, the man has an amazing memory, and might be able to educate you on it.
I think I would have a hard time cutting that one up, as well..... _________________ 2003 Samba Chummie Winner- Best Story

Dave, I also know Bruce too. I called and left him a message but I never got a call back.
I was told from mini bike collectors that Steen made these, named them after the Manx without Bruce's permission. That's why they are called Lynx.
Richard, thanks for finding that brochure. I'm at a rough place as I'm planning to heavy modified it for MAC racing & trail riding.....or to restore it. _________________ Werksberg Products....Products that work!
