Very Nice '66? I figured you didn't really need to import a nice RHD VW.

I don't know how I could have forgotten Everett's. I'd say that would have to be first for '61- '63, Martin's definitely for '64-'65, and Bobby Billy's for Second Design Squareback.

John J and his Sophie.

Ha. Thanks Rob.

The black panel van will hit the road again this year with the new engine once the ECU is programmed. It's running and able to be driven.

Might replace the french polished floor in the back too as it is not aging as well as it could have (yes Australian panel vans' did have marine ply timber in the back as original if your wondering).

The 2028cc in the car sounds and runs sweet!!!!! Dual 48mm throttle bodies are the go!

I'm Pete - I've got a squareback but it's still very much in pieces.. I'm not in any of the Aussie threads just yet, but I've been meaning to say hi to the guys over at the Type 3 Contingent. Are you one of those guys? Your Elanora is a great looking square!

The Yellow Rose, owned by Lance MacDonald. The car is 100% original with dealer accessory luggage and just over 50K miles on the speedometer. Very little wear on the interior and sports the original Type 3 only plug wires. This picture does not do the car justice.

The seat bases are the originals but I had them metal finished, the holes welded up / plated up and colour matched to the leather colour.

The seats are Scat pro-car seats that I had altered- had the black vinyl removed, head rests removed, re-trim in the grey leather and I had map pockets made for the back (as original panel van's and 'N' models don't generaly have map pockets in the doors, I needed somewhere to put my paperwork etc!!).

I think they look and ride okay. If I had my time again, I would drop the seat base height down 1 inch or so but it's okay for a first effort. Remember I did this about 15 years ago and was young and stupid. Now I am older and stupid.

Of course the recliner bit on the seat is original Scat and part of the seat.

Mine! Why? Well...its my first ever VW, it will not only pop my VW Cherry but it will teach me more about the VW than any future VW car I may ever own.

My new baby has no engine, no tranny, only metal for interior, and a floor pan full of red crusty stuff. But!! It has an amazing soul that im going to polish, recharge..and bring back to life. I WIN!
