Oh, WOW!
That paint job is intense!
I like that you kept the red trim around the grill. I've never seen that before.
I see a ladder in the first picture, but not in the final one. Did you end up getting rid of it? |

Sorry dude but that's gotta be one of those "beauty in the eye of the beholder" paint schemes. _________________ "Always waiting for tomorrow ruined everything"

Here is another pic..Actually this is a low cost paint job less than $300 bucks using oil base Rustoleum and a HVLP paint spray done in my garage.
Berkeleyjack, I have plan to put that ladder at the back & a GMC Jimmy spare tire carrier that I got from the yard but I sill have to modify to fit. I will post photos once it gets done. |

Very cool paint! Me likes. I don't care for the blue as it seems to lack cohesiveness with the overall color scheme but it's certainly unique and I think very well done. |

Good job getting such clean lines! I thought some of it was vinyl decals at first. One of my buddies has a vinyl cutting machine and has done some giant car appliques for custom racing stripes and that kind of thing for people who want to get some color on their rides but don't know how to do the painting themselves or want to be able to peel it off later in case they sell the car later.
I'm surprised you got such vivid colors from Rustoleum. Never used their oil based stuff before. I thought you might have used 1-Shot sign painter's paint.

PS: Just noticed that the yellow stripe on the van matches the yellow in the license plate! Nice touch! |

I used oil based Rustoleum on my drive line many years ago. Still looks good today... after many miles on gravel roads!
It has pretty good protection value especially factoring in the price of the stuff. _________________ previous:

I like the paint too. Nothing wrong with a BOLD van. (just don't expect all potential buyers to like it too!) _________________ 1980 Full Camper, been in the family since it was brand new!

Hello Folks,
Thank you for all your comments. My only purpose of repainting the van was just to protect the metal from rusting & I do not want to spend big bucks for an expensive automotive paint.I have used Rustoleum paint on my 1976 CJ7`s interior body 5 years ago until now still looking good.
Berkeleyjack, these are all rustoleum paint, some of the colors was a combination of two major colors. I used temporary stripping tape to do all the stripings. It looks like a lot of works envolved but I just took my time and have fun. My next project on her is to swap a 2.2 Subaru Legacy motor and I have a donor car in my yard. |
