Hell yeah Mark! 350 Cheebie crate motor with a 700R4 trans - if it will fit. Bet that would be a fun car then.

As much fun as that really sounds i dont have the funds to do something like that, besides i probably wouldn't want to get rid of it after that.
Ill put up some pictures later today, maybe someone could tell how much i could sell it for reasonably.

while you can't use the engine for anything useful really, unless you swap the whole kaboodle over (which I highly discourage you from doing), the suspension and brakes are possibly a bolt on to your VW, depending on the year.

I've seen a lot of guys running 924 and 944 rear arms and brakes and swapping all the disk brake components over to late model t3's and bugs.

Most of the suspension is a direct bolt on for the Super Beetles for a great upgrade.
The rear irs arms are aluminum on the 924/944 and reduce the unsprung weight of the suspension.

Those were some bleak years, the porsche is kinda like the 20r cellica, looks like a sportscar but has a little truck motor in it, you either love it or hate it

Apparently this guy is undecided? Wink

That car is worth more in parts. Grab the brakes, and what you can't use sell on Ebay. The Wheels look good and will fit VW's I am sure.

Really I would sell it for whatever you can get. The parts to fix them are stupid high. There is a bunch cult lovers of anything Porsche and that one is a rare bird. You can buy a nice low rust bug body and chassis and spend a hell of a lot less on putting one together than that TURD.

IT HAS THE ENGINE OF A VAN.

I want to like the 'poor-man's porsche'. But they are just rubbish. I like the aluminum trailing link idea though. I'm gonna be scouting that now.
