I did not like the way they finished the threading and am now getting stainless coils to weld in. This has been a learning experience for me as well with these bulb holders. However, consider that they are almost impossible to come by and if I send you pics of them your will see they are beautifully finished.

Hi Ghia60Owner:

My ad is not misleading, the people doing the work have made on mistake after another and I have had to find the solutions to make it right. The bulb holders are made of pot metal and with time the metal becomes brittle making the threads break off. I could have found an easy solution and sent them, only to have them fall off again when you have to change the bulbs. Instead I went with doing it right even at greater expense and time. I have not seen any NOS complete sets out there and it is very hard to get a complete set with the Hella amber lenses - rings - new contacts - stainless studs - stainless German screws exact to the OEM spec. I have learned a lot from this and now know exactly what to look for when I do others.

They have been the resault of months of trial and error work and a lot of expense in tools and parts to make them, we addressed all the problems that come with them and now know how to handle them. Hi Ghia60Owner:

This was never about sticking anyone, this is about a bunch of peaple that delivered bulbholders with many issues for me to fixed and a learning experince of months finding the tools parts and solutions to fix them, it may seem like an off-full amount of time. However, every time I though I had them right another issue arose. They have been truly reengineered and all the issues with them have been addressed. My bulbholders will be the best around. They have stainless steel inserts where the rings are screwed in, not the pot metal ones that break, they have German slotted screws just like the originals only in stainless steel, they have stainless steel studs with brass nuts, new contacts with stainless steel screws holding them. They are the best and it took time to fix all the issues to get them there. If I knew, it was as much work as they turned out to be, I would not have gotten myself into it. However, I wanted to get it right. I could have impervised and gotten them out to you earlier, however, in the long run you would have paid the price.

DO NOT buy the 59' KarmannGhia BulbHolders in this Ad.

I purchased in September of last year Still dont have them,
nor will he Refund my money.

watch closely see how Red Flags start poping up.

Frustrated on how little TheSamba can do for me, im willing to go to the expense and trouble to publish a ripoff web page in his behalf

Despite previous feedback, I trusted Julian and made one of the biggest purchases that I ever have through him.
One of the items was back ordered and my payment was refunded to my paypal account and the rest of the order was received well packaged.
I plan to re-order the back ordered item through Julian and will shop with him again in the future.
His prices on Ghia parts seem fair.

I accidentally overpaid him on Paypal, he immediately refunded the money, well before I noticed my error.

Boy you guys have me a little nervous here.
I just placed a $700 rubber order yesterday, spoke to him on the phone and he certainly seemed knowledgeable and did a bit of upselling (which I'm ok with). I have yet to see the tracking numbers yet...let's give it a few days and I'll get back to this thread.

Ok - so my set of seals just arrived (about 7 days from placement to arrival).
Overall Jules/Julian was knowledgeable and had a great price. Seals appear satisfactory but I haven't started the fitting yet.

Now for my opinion: I had to actually call him directly since I received no reply to my emails, and even after placing my order his email replies were brief and a little cryptic. I think he operates a few e-businesses from his house (they all appear to have the address of the North Bergen, NJ post office). H appears to have zero overhead which explains his ability to have prices far lower than anyone else, however the logistics of this operation reflect this...such as online ordering, automated tracking, order confirmation...the all-around customer service you will probably get from a larger company.

The Samba email was being rejected by my service provider, therefore, I was not getting my email. I do have low overhead, because I own the building I work out of outright and I can buy direct from the importers, not the distributors and that reflects in my prices.
