So, if anyone is on line at the Solstice, my girlfriend, Diana, will be stopping by and possibly looking to camp with the Solstice group. We were supposed to meet there for Solstice. Also, maybe she can get on board a Syncro excursion. Anyone?
Gracias,

Syncro Solstice was absolutely amazing again this year! Couldn't have had a better time. Awesome people, amazing trails...good times!
Here are a few pics from one of the trails a group of Syncros did...it's called Hells Revenge...I think we may be the first group of Syncros to do this trail together...

Incredible Pics! Just got off the phone with Jeff, ItsaSyncro, who told me the story of that trail and the Unimog Tour Guides' comment..."in all my years doing this, I have never seen Vanagon Syncro's on this trail"
Thanks for the pics! _________________ Happiness=Portland, Oregon in the rearview mirror! |

Nice pics of Syncro's on Hell's Revenge. I ran with a group of Unimogs in my Syncro at Moab back in 2002. We did Hell's Revenge, Pritchett Canyon, Metal Masher, Rim of the World, Golden Spike and some others I can't remember the names of. I had to have a tow strap several times on Pritchett Canyon and on Metal Masher. Other trails the Syncro did well on. Worst failure was a cut tire. The Jeep guys sure hated to see me out on the trails. That is when I first met Bob Steven's while he was Mt. Biking.
Too bad you guys moved Syncro Solstice so close to SdM. No way I can take off so much time two weeks in a row. |

Shaun's van had troubles leaving so they took Seth's van instead. _________________ Syncronize it!

I still have the pics I took of your van heading down PSM John. I was surprised to see a Vanagon up there with all those Jeeps and Mogs, but was pretty sure it was you and your van from my WWW Vanagon/Syncro online group reads. |

Just got back home last night... what an adventure! Thank you, everyone, for the great time!
I heard about the Hell's Revenge drive... but seeing the photos/videos gives it a whole different perspective!
Already planning for 2013... with a float down the river! The bike riding was great (except for me being out of shape!), but the river beckoned! Speaking of the bike ride... talked with a local Monday night who said, "They took you where?!"
The rest of my photos from the trip are here: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v319/jettncab/OldBlue/SyncroSolstice2012/
And to the two who waved Saturday and got no wave back, I'm so sorry! I was looking off to the right for a business the first time, and the second time I was gawking at a Mk2 Golf GTI as it passed. _________________ ~Kamz

Mention on the "other list" (which is now "locked" for replies), of Bill Langan's dented driver side rear quarter panel, just in front of the rear wheel ... that actually happened on Spring Canyon Trail, about 4 miles out from the bottom of Spring Canyon, where it begins to parallel the Green River, going up-river. The reason I know this is because I saw the Celeste (my name for it, Bianchi-flavored) Green paint from his van on the rock. The Moab Geological Sciences Institute has labeled this newly-discovered mineral deposit, Langanite.
As far as I know, the broken CV happened out on Hell's Revenge. Another 930 bites the dust. |
