Found out that the OG satin blue running boards are still on the vert and were dyed black. Gotta thank my wife for stripping them while I was at work!

Still waiting on my exhaust. Mr. Wob made me one for this motor. Shipped last week DHL, so it should be here this week sometime.
Still have a bunch of little loose ends to tie up and should have the interior done tonight or tomorrow :thumb: |

Got the birth certificate for the vert. Found out it was part of the "tourist delivery program" The car was ordered from a US VW dealer, built at the factory then sent somewhere in England for the owner to drive while visiting there. Once their vacation was over the car was shipped back to the states by VW! This was a hustle by VW so that they could exceed the amount of cars they could legally import each year!
Wonder how many rhd verts came through as special tourist ordered cars? I still can't find anyone that knows how many rhd verts were even produced. |

Got the vert featured in Volksworld Magazine (September issue) Chadd (ratlookvw) you were mentioned in the article for building the wheels, Aaron @ wide five.net was mentioned for the spindles, and Womack was mentioned for the spring plates. Also Glenn Hicks for welding the support rails and Jerry Hundley for getting the pans welded up. Thanks to all who helped throughout the quick build up!!!
Got a bunch of trinkets stashed at home to go on the vert when I get back. OG front and rear Empi license plate frames, OG Empi radio, NOS Empi glove box pull, NOS Perohause long turn signals, NOS Rabambus vert only parcel tray, set of OG Empi racing gauges with the brass sender! Gonna have to make the gauge panels out of real wood since the vert is rhd, can't wait to get home!!!! Tired of Afghanistan! _________________ My 62 RHD Vert

Yeah I just emailed them all the info. You can email Ivan, one of the publishers. His info should be on their website.

What type of wood are you going to use for the dash?? |
Dave, I'm thinking about using a mahogany or whatever I can find that matches the original painted panels texture.

They are 15X7's in the rear and 15X5.5's in the front to include the spare. Chadd rehooped them for me and they were then sent to Cali. for chroming _________________ My 62 RHD Vert
