!!! THE CLOCK IS NOT FOR SALE!!!
This clock is a gift to my boss from his friend with another bigger dash mounted ('55 - oval?) clock. My boss was told it is '47-'48 clock but not sure. Clock is hand wind up from behind, approx. 50 mm. in diameter, with all original parts and working, was mounted on a chromed plate for table use since many years. It's not VDO clock, may be ZF of or ZE? What is correct use of this clock?
I've found simmilar, but VDO clock in Ebay.
Click
More info about that clocks will be good Thanks!

This is the clock that I have. The face looks identical, but the rear winder looks different. Maybe my clock is a later model. _________________ New Vintage Specialist.

The clock in the OP appears to have raised dots at each hour. Is this correct or an optical illusion?
The clock shown above appears to not have these dots, and the thickness of the numbers are finer on the OP's clock. _________________ ( ⫏ ⫐ )

Raised dots is correct. _________________ It all works on paper.

Don't you mean that the numbers on the clock above are *thicker* than the OPs clock? Looks that way to me.... _________________ John Henry

There are definate differences in the faces upon closer inspection. My clock has thicker font and non-raised dots. I was under the impression that my clock was 1951-52 clock. _________________ New Vintage Specialist.

The user =Petri Nut*1= also has one the same as the OP's clock.
The VDO catalogs list both the VW and Tempo versions as having luminous dots.......but it doesn't list them as being for a split Bug. The clock that would go in a split bugs glovebox lid would be 60mm.....wouldn't it?

That would explain the dots and the extra paint(?) on the ends of the two clock hands. _________________ It all works on paper.

It depends on the glovebox lid. Perohaus glovebox doors has got 60mm holes, and the more common version used in split-dash-Karmann-Kabs got holes that will fit 52 mm gauges. _________________ http://outlavws.blogspot.com |

Thanks.
Is the Perohaus version the same as the Happich version? The Happich version has the round horn grills mounted to it. _________________ ( ⫏ ⫐ )

I assume you are refering to the aftermarket Happich version found in catalogues from the 50ties?
Perohaus version looks like this:

ACO like this:

And Karmann factory-delivered-look like this. There are different kinds of locks for these. (Happich) Some of these are probably period aftermarket.

Yes. The Happich and the Karmann versions look the same to me.
I have a set that came with my split, and they accept a 60mm clock.
So, is the Karmann version nearly the same as the Happich version, with the exception that the horn grill is 52mm?
I found some clearer pics for reference.
