Those of us living vicariously through those that were able to attend are seriously suffering from a lack of pictorial evidence.
Post more pics, PLEASE! _________________ nothing |

Its not the clearest pic, but you get the idea. This is the host hotel parking lot, not even at the show. In back of me were even more barndoors....many more. In this pic alone, there are 6 deluxes, two 50's, and a 52 standard.

Change this pic to black and white and it would fit right in with the vintage thread. Incredible show weekend.
Big time props for all that drove their Barndoors to the show, that's no small accomplishment, but especially to my fellow East Coaster MarkR. Hardcore! _________________ 58 Coral Red ragtop(Diana's car)

I couldn't make OCTO, but saw the ones that showed up at the Classic and was amazed by the number of standard/kombi sunroof models. For such an odd option there sure were a lot of them at that event. I also liked looking at all the original interiors, which was also amazing given the vintage. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

On the way back the Nor Cal Barndoor caravan stoped at a shell gas station and across the street we happen to see this!
Had to get a photo of the barndoors at the barnwood! |

JODER!!!!! 58 Barndoors!!!!!!
Props to all you guys who brought out your rides to this gathering. When the smoke cleared, 58 Barndoors stood proud. Biggest OCTO turn out yet.
Results:
Oldest Bus: 1950 Kombi, owner - Joe Mond
Longest distance: MaHk Rafferty , 1953 Standard
Most Barndoors present by an owner: Todd Olmstead . 1955 Deluxe, 1955 Single Cab & 1954 Panel.
And Eddy "Pitbull" Aguire guessed how many Barndoors would show up.
More info & pictures to come. Feel free chiming in. |
I'm new here to posting, so I hope this is OK. I counted 56, but I had to leave early for my son's birthday party at 9:45AM so I'm guessing I missed 2 that showed up later. Here are the pics I took, starting from the back of the line up working towards the front. For those that weren't able to attend, maybe this will feel like you're walking around there. Enjoy!

Wow, nice pix Trevor! It's really great to see that they don't all have safari windows, roof racks, etc. After all these decades, each one has received a unique personality from longevity. Kudos to ALL of the builders and owners. May we do so well as human beings. _________________ Jack Staggs
