Nope. Judging from looks underneath and further details it clearly seems to be a Wolfsburg pre 55, somewhat reworked by an ingenious (probably east of iron curtain) owner (lights, engine lid)

I may be mistaken, but wasn't this external gas filler a very early feature, like prototype? I know this was the case on some early Type 1s. So, added or OG? Shocked

Ooooh, it's "frenched" in. Very 1980/90s.

The car is "just" a 1952 modell, which is modified during its time in the GDR. The 49-prototypes have vertical loofers, a different roff in the rear and some other strange details, which are different to the 1950 serial version. The crazy hadlamps are used from a "Barkas 1000" in reason that it was very difficult and expensive to get original ones after the wall was built. Without these details, the car looks very solid!

I heard about this bus some month ago. Now i see the first pics of this bus.
As Björn wrote, it´s a 1952 bus, with a lot of modifications taken in the east of germany. Maybe one day a real 1949´s bus will be found.... Laughing
