|
|
Anyone have a picture of an original, unmolested apron from a '55 Bug? Or, can someone please answer my question?
This apron/spare tire well has three holes drilled in it. One in the apron, two in the spare tire well. Question is, which of these three, if any, or if all, are factory holes that are supposed to be there? The two in the spare tire well have a large hole between them as well, which I'm sure isn't supposed to be there in any event. I just want it to be just as it was when it left the factory.
Pic:
Thanks!

Thanks for the pic, though it really only tells me that the top hole should be here.
I was looking at the WolfParts replacement panel, and judging from it both spare tire well holes should be there. But the third hole in the apron should not, maybe?
54ovsemi, I'd definitely appreciate seeing a pic of yours.

For a third opinion...I just looked at the original, unmolested apron and spare tire well on my U.S.-market Nov '54 and all three holes are there; one in the apron and two in the spare tire well, under the ram protection plate.

Thanks very much, guys! Not sure why mine doesn't have that "protecto plate." My '57 did. Was it a US thing? This car is from overseas.
Thanks again.

Euro had small overiders = no plate
Euro or Export with ram protection (towel rack) = protecto plate |
