Here's the dash in my '74 Super:
Custom machined aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminium offset by anodized black hex head bolts. When I redo the car, I'm going to keep the aluminium and wrap the dash in leather too. _________________ 1974 Super: "Diego" |

Good eye. They're stock Recaro's from a two-seater '96 BMW M3. Heated. Power. Super comfy and easy to fit in a bug (if you have a welder). Keep an eye on CL. All sorts of fun stuff comes up from time to time. The guy I got these from was rally racing his M3 and didn't want to deal with the additional weight of the power / heat mechanisms so "upgraded" to manual racing Recaros with a 5 point harness. I think I got these for $200. That's right around what someone would spend on new seat covers / padding for bug seats. It was an easy choice. Here's another pic of the dash:

That is a sweetass dash.
I've been meaning to upgrade the seats in my Volvo to something else. I've been eyeing E30 Sport seats, not the M3 ones but the ones that the convertibles and the "is" models came with. _________________ 1974 Super: "Diego" |

Haha, I'll bet.
The Volvo's seats are nice (both Volvos I have, actually), really comfy but unfortunately not very supportive. The Super has custom seats in it that are really supportive but a little hard. I definitely plan on redoing the seats with memory foams in the bottom and back, and hard foam for the bolsters. _________________ 1974 Super: "Diego" |

Completely custom. Made for my car. It was made probably 15-20 years ago, my mom had it custom commissioned. _________________ 1974 Super: "Diego" |

The dash was cracked so I put a dash pad on it but cut part of the dash out and found some matching carpet to put in it. Now I can put stuff up on the dash. Also changed the steering wheel. |

Hi, still don't know whether mitchpei has a Super or a standard.
Been a while since I touted my dash on here, so if mitchpei has a super and for those of you that have not seen it here goes . You can read the build on www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=489809 Sorry it's a left hooker.

Excellent job on the dash. I saw you got a lot of well deserved praise in the posted thread. |

Here is my dash panel - kinda like thebornotaku - mine is not as nice - I just sourced some 1/8" aluminium from a internet supplier ripped it to size with a table saw and a little file and grinder work and voila - I must say if Nigel would start selling his dash with wheel on the proper side of the car I would be on that in a heartbeat.
