I thought there weren't any roads to the lost coast...hence the name. Are there dirt/4wd roads that get all the way out there? _________________ '77 Bay Window / '89 Caratsburg (aka. the Stormtrooper) |

Yes there are road like things to get you there in a 2wd but if is wet or raining I would want 4wd. |

My previous pics were taken on the route up to the Lost Coast. We were probably just South of Fort Bragg. We picked up firewood there and next stop was Lost Coast, the following day.
We only have a 2WD but it's lifted. Bigger tires, no rain, we were ok. NOT fun running into someone else going the opposite direction on that windy muddy steep twisty road in or out.
We wanted 4WD so we could get to the place Alaric.H just showed! Here's where we camped instead - inland a smidge away from the beach:

Yes! I learned it's pronounced more like "Sink-yoan" than "Sinky One" which was funny (after all, you DO sink in the sand where that river meets the ocean!)
We keep hoping we'll find more Westy campers there, no luck yet. Tho you're from BC, obviously folks other than us have come from far & wide to find that place. On this trip, we only found crowds of loud-screamin, gun-shootin, firework-poppin, beer-guzzlin, music-blastin yahoos. They chased away all the birds and wildlife that we'd hoped to see, but they did have extra tortillas _________________ Rebuilt 2.1 in a 1985 manual Camper
