The depth of Bob's understanding has always awed me - and He offered that understanding to all of us in such an entertaining way. I have thought of him as a VW "guru", without really knowing what it meant, but his passing inspired me to look up the word tonight -
"A guru is one who is regarded as having great knowledge, wisdom and authority in a certain area, and who uses it to guide others (teacher). In Sanskrit gu means darkness & ru means light. As a principle for the development of consciousness it leads the creation from unreality to reality, from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge." (Wiki)
I'd say that fits him rather well. He will live on in his teachings.
My Condolences to his family. _________________ - James

I came across this YouTube tribute to Bob Hoover today. There are photos of Bob in it provided by his family including one from his Navy days.
After searching Samba I didn't find that the tribute had been previously posted. Bob died two years ago this month.
