EDIT
NOTE: Sale eneded 9-5-2012...Keep looking for specials. You may still find a discount code. It ***IS*** cheaper on line than buying in store.
END EDIT
http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_9990000046428411P
Find the promo code, it was OFFERS10
Order on line and pick it up later.
Reg Price: $49.99 - Discounted price $29.99 - Now $26.99 - With Promo code $24.17....
You must do the above for the special pricing, I went to the store and it was almost $50, so you have to order on line.
NO IN STORE PRICE MATCHING, I FOUND OUT!
After my experiences with my $40 awning and my EZY Awning, it may be something else just to play with....

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=525352
NOTE: It packs small, I had the bag in my hand. They had plenty here in San Diego. It is a LOT smaller then my EZY Awning....I have yet to go get it, have to go have real fun at the beach first....
FYI: Joey likes it,it can't be all bad, eh?

Nice it looks a lot like my ozark trail 9'x9' that works great! Wonderful alternative to the expensive canopies.

adamjjohn203, I have canopy very similar to yours. What do you mount to on your roof? Are the poles you are using sourced from somewhere else or did you modify the original poles that came with your canopy?
Thanks |

I used the existing poles....pulled apart the one side and lengthened the ones to have them tuck back to wheels.
I just attach one side to the luggage rack cleats and the other to the back door. _________________ '87 Westfalia

I have had that awning for a couple years and it's held up pretty good. I believe it was $30 when I bought it. I've never tried attaching it to the van but I have thought about it. _________________ _________________________________

I have NOT gotten mine yet!
Despite there being PLENTY in the store, they show no inventory in their system.
Hence they cancelled my order.
I ordered again using a store that showed stock.
This time it said no stock before I finished the check out session.
So I finally got an order through to a store in another part of town.
I will see if I will actually get my couple of awnings.....
Sigh. _________________ "Use the SEARCH, Luke" But first visit the Vanagon FAQ!

In case anybody's curious, here's what it looks like. Just got mine yesterday.
Bag size for scale: (I was surprised at how small it was):

Looks great. I LIKE IT.
I got my two yesterday.
No time to assemble yet.
It is bigger than my standard EZY Awning.
How did you attach to your drip rail? _________________ "Use the SEARCH, Luke" But first visit the Vanagon FAQ!

I just used a couple spring clamps in the picture there. More than two will be needed to stretch and attach it properly while camping.
I read a thread on here somewhere (I can't find it at the moment) about folks with similar awnings sewing on a strip with magnets along one edge, I think I'm going to try that. Clamps would work in a pinch though. _________________ 86 Vanagon Wolfsburg/Weekender |

Got mine last fall on sale for $40. Its not as good as $26, but WAY better than a $700 dollar set up. Used it over Labor Day and it blocks the sun just fine IMHO. I use small spring clips to attach to the drip rail and store it in the tray in the rear hatch.
