Good Morning, Folks,
Sunday’s show ranked right up there among the best run I’ve ever attended and/or participated in. I’d like you to know that there are a few points that especially hit the mark:
- Thanks for playing the National Anthem at the start. It is the right thing to do, especially during these troubled times.
- Thanks to everyone in the show field for removing their hats and for shutting down engines and becoming quiet during the Anthem. I was VERY impressed by this show of respect.
- Thanks for the program that gave an outline of the weekend’s activities. It was very professionally done. I especially appreciated the statement “This is a family show, so please conduct yourself accordingly. Watch your speed…etc.”. Just a gentle reminder about expectations.
- Thanks to everyone for paying attention to those reminders. From what I could see, everyone put their best on display.
- Thanks to the club member who made it a point to come around at the end and check on things with the swappers; nice touch!
- Thanks to the guys in the show field who tried so hard to keep things organized. Good job, but you guys were hard to see! Maybe next year you could get some of those day-glo vests and wands that the airport guys use to direct airplanes.
Kudos to the folks at Central Jersey VW Society; you did an excellent job! I look forward to next year’s show! By the way, how did you arrange for such nice weather?

We have a box of day glo vests in the Club trailer for that purpose, they apparently were forgotten... _________________ '72 Super Beetle

Thought I'd share the pictures I took from the show.
It turned out to be a bee a you tee full day & not enough can be said about the turn out of enthusiasts and the quality of cars. |

Speaking of pictures..First, let me say that on behalf of my band, The Flying Dogs of Jupiter, who entertained at the banquet Saturday night, a big thanks for having us at such a great, well run event and for the generous tips we received. Next, a lot of folks took pictures of us performing, including one fellow (club member or guest?, not sure but you looked familiar) who was using a big old digital SLR camera and knelling in for close-ups. We would love to have you share these pics with us! Please PM or e-mail me at [email protected] if anyone has pics or vids to share, thanks. Jeff Taylor _________________ '72 Super Beetle

And a tip of the club hat to Dave Cheek for his carefully thought out show field parking plan. It maximized utilization of the field and was able to handle the record turnout nicely from what I could see. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

This show is the highlight of the show season by far. I don't make it to the club meetings, but we really should do something special for Art. After all, wasn't he the one who suggested the SSC as a great location for a show? Thanks to everyone who came out, the people are what makes this show so great! _________________ I will never lie, but sometimes the truth changes.

I also want to give a personal thanks to Gene Langan of Langlan VW for bringing down the Sudfunk '50 panel and the 52 single cab. Those were the icing on the cake for a show who's focus this year was on early Type 2's. Besides the time, energy and cost of trailering those two beauties down from Glastonbury CT, Gene also made a very generous donation to Operation Jersey Cares. Gene, you are a stand up guy, ot was an honor to have you and part of your collection at our event and I'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of you in the future.

What can I say that can't be said, pure VW heaven. My family and I had the best weekend hanging with friends and our family. We meet some great people at the campout and really enjoyed the perfect weather. The valve cover races and bug push were the best, the pictures are proof. How much fun was this past weekend, awesome!
My dad, me, my mom, and my wife--
I proud to be apart of such a great club and show. The holiday is over and the girls are back in school tomorrow. Just packed them lunch

Thanks Mike.
This picture means so much to me. 8 years ago I moved back to NJ out of the military with our daughter. I had a lime green dune buggy. First show I went to was Flanders. 8 shows later, we all have vw's, crazy. The friends we have made along the way, priceless _________________ Central Jersey Volkswagen Society - President |

I got back around 11:30pm Sunday night. It was a long drive and Tim was right, that traffic on I-287 backed up from an accident was brutal. Fortunately once we got to the Tappan Zee bridge there was hardly any traffic, it was all behind us trying to squeeze by in the one lane that was getting past.
Once again the All Air-Cooled gathering was a terrific show. Thanks to everyone who helps to put the show on and everyone who attended. I counted at least 35 buses on the show field (show cars, vendors and Langan's two), there were even more bay window buses. I scored a few good deals on parts and sorted out some motor pieces for a 40hos I'm putting together for a customer.
Here are some of my pix, more are in the gallery.
Sat. morning at Walmart, camping with Mike and Michelle in their '65 with a Doormobile top and Dustan and Lori in the Monster Truck rescued '64 Double Door Kombi.
One of the camping fields starting to fill up on Sat.
The travel game featuring broken and defective VW parts from my shop.
Buses of all heights and colors at the show.
Lots of Bay pride colors.
People's choice best of show, Noel Reid's '56 Deluxe.
Judges choice for Best in Show and Best '67 and earlier bus, Mark Lasky's '66.
Does anyone know who owns this nice bay window doublecab? I need to contact them.
Nice doublecab at the end of the early bus row.
The final heat of the exciting valve cover racing.
One of my favorite buses at the show.
The '64 double door Kombi, saved from the Monster Truck rally just a few months ago.
Early buses on display in the front row.

With 200 plus campers Saturday night, somebody had to bring a lawn mower.

Casey, getting to know you and Denise has been great. Didn't know you were in the military, but my dad would slap me of I didn't say thank-you. Best part though, every time your girls ran passed me this weekend, they ALWAYS said hi, or waved if they were running really fast!
Stan, awesome to see that bus got saved! (I'll admit, it vaguely reminds me of a scene from Herbie Fully Loaded) now, in bid to restore some of my badass rep... Can't wait to show some Bay Pride Alliance colors at Transporterfest! _________________ Mike
