I bought a stripped down middle--no covers, no backing. If memory serves me correctly, the ashtray screws into a metal plate which, I believe, is riveted to the cardboard backing. I located an ashtray, but don't have the small plate. I'm pretty sure if I try to rivet it directly to the cardboard I purchased, it's going to look funky and probably fall off. Looking for ideas and what others might have done in a similar situation.

Check out page 4 of my gallery. There're a few pics of an original that you can easily copy.

Perfect! Thanks. How did you attach the backer board to the seat frame?
I've seen it duct-taped, but I doubt that's how the factory did it.
