When I had my interior redone at a local shop, I told him I wanted two flush mount drink holders in the shelf behind the half-wall. You can pick them up for a few bucks each at any auto parts store's "crap magnet" isle.
Cut the holes, drop 'em in. Pull 'em out when you hit your steering box and spill your coffee...
Piss simple.

What about something like this? Bench seat console. I would not have anyone sitting there anyhow, because it makes it difficult to shift.
I also like the swinging boat cup cages. I have them in my Bay and they are awesome.

I have this one too. Picked it up at bugorama for I think $20. Works great. Only problem is if you have a really tall passenger or 2 passengers it can get in the way of their knees. |

I have this one as well and like it for the most part. My only complaint is: I have a shift extension and no matter where in the dash slots I hang it, It gets in the way during shifting/driving. Long open cruises are fine, but around town, or whenever I'm having to constantly shift, it spends most of it's time sitting on the floor. |
