NHL is dead, 2 strikes so close together, I started losing interest in the game a few years ago and this is just driving the nail in the coffin for me.

I doubt I'll ever lose interest in the game, only in the system that brings the best players to the forefront.

I'm a big hockey fan but I hope they never settle this lockout. It is absolutely vulgar what all professional athletes make these days. There is no reason any of them should make millions a year.

Not disagreeing with you that players are overpaid. However, the team owners are contractually obligated to pay the agreed upon salary. This lockout is all about the teams getting greedy.
On a side note... I've found that hockey players seem to be more charitable than NBA or NFL players, and they do it on smaller salaries.

I was surfing the TV today and saw ESPN was playing a KHL game, Lev vs. Dynamo Msk. Not the same. The KHL seems slower to me. Still, watching Chara and Ovechkin playing in Europe is better than no hockey at all. Bettman sucks.

Had a couple of Maple Leaf players in the shop today. Nelson, my mechanic (his shop) has been saying since the lock out started that it would end by Nov 25th as that's the day the Escro Account closes. It's the Account that holds all the players contract moneys. They will lose their annual contract salary if not settled. I'm not sure that I have the following correct but I think it also puts an end to all their contracts. That's an OUCH for players and while it saves the owners money they ultimately loose money as well. I think it will be settled on the 23rd.
