You can buy them orange; not sure where, but you can. PM Curtis4085, he bought one for his bus. _________________ *****************

If you get it done, i'd do something unique...
I always thought this was a pretty cool idea (I forget where I saw it)

I just had my local canvas place make a simple one with a single zippered window in front for my 69 westy, I have not installed it yet but it looks good. I paid $300 and it looks like a quality job. Too hot for me to get much done now so it may be a few weeks before I get it installed, will post pics.PM me if you want contact info. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

I also have an orange westy that I am looking at a orange tent for....
I found this company on the web called Select VW Parts and they are selling the orange tent. I am not sure the quality as I have not ordered from this company, but would love some feedback of someone out their has bought this tent from them. Really want orange and not the yellow OEM that bus depot has. Any feedback would be appreciated. |

You might want to ask for a sample swatch of the material you wish to use. With this you can determine if it is what you want or not. Of course, you will not get to see the finished product, but you can always ask for references from other buyers. Just my 2 pennies. |

One got made for my bus at a local canvas worker / tent manufacturer as part of an insurance settlement that I had no control over - lesson learned there, too...Settlement ended with me getting a bus depot one shipped out and promising that I would rip that piece of sh*t off at the earliest opportunity.
I've used the lower-cost one from BD before and I'm using it again - I was really happy with it. And it cost less than half of what the tent place charged. Definitely buyer beware, I think. _________________ http://thickrubber.blogspot.com/ Writing, Surfing, and Exploring NZ's deep south by VW...

My wife is making me one out of@ fifty bucks worth of painters drop cloths and an old pool winter leaf tarp. Sound cheap and cheasy but it's coming along very nicely. Bus depot has a nylon top for the riviera but the windows weren't what I was looking for. Get ahold of a sewing machine and see what you can dream up. It's all a labor of love anyways and who do you have to impress? just yourself right? _________________ One day as a lion, or a lifetime as lamb
