Hi Gang,

I have searched extensively to find these camshaft numbers with no luck.

I have a MOFOCO Block and Pulled the Oil Pump to have a look at the Camshaft - mostly because I have heard that MOFOCO built a lot of engines with Hydraulic Cams and I wanted to be sure what I have before putting on new Pistons & Cylinders.

the numbers on the Camshaft are either 09160 or 90610

the numbers on the 3 riveted on camshaft gear are either 6801106 or 9011089

here are pictures and Thank you in Advance for your Help !

I sent an email to Roy at Mofoco.

but just because it is a MOFOCO Block doesnt necessarily mean that it still contains MOFOCO Parts. the Date on the Block is 2000 so its been around awhile and who knows whats in it.

the Previous Owner of this car/engine didnt give me any information as to what the engine was, he just said his Neighbor Ex vw Mechanic rebuilt it for him, well you know how that goes !..

Im just trying to identify what parts are in this block so I can move forward. It is probably just an aftermarket Stock Cam since it is Riveted , but I really dont know and was hoping someone might identify it.

thanks !

You have some good points, but Darth is right; it's a place to start.

Yeah, I checked with the old man and he doesn't remember us ever putting numbers like that on a cam. For a while, we did have our own numbering system but the were AP-2 and AP-3. We also stamped 100, 110 and 120 when we ground cams to engle specs.
