I've looked at the Retrosound and have seen several posts about it but this one looks more vintage/retro to me. Does anyone have an opinion on it?

You are right, that is actually half assed decent looking. No doubt some efforts have been made to improve its VW-ness. Buy it and write us a review on your thoughts and experience. Generally, the reviews that I have read have been average.

Just ordered one, along with the ipod kit. I'll let you know how it works out.

This one looks wayyyy more period correct--- ( link: http://www.retrosoundusa.com/products/details/id/258 ) I have purchased 3 of their radios over the years, love them all ( have them in my mustangs and bug-- but this one takes the cake for anyone trying to make a radio " period correct " these days --- Smile

I ended up finding an actual vintage radio. It even came out of another '74 bus.
