I just purchased a 1966 Beetle and there were two chrome pieces that were inside the car. They are 19-1/2" long. My guess is that they might be some sort of aftermarket accessory but I'm not sure. Can anybody identify these parts?

My guess is that someone left some old unrelated parts in your Volkswagen. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

I was gonna say that they looked like these bumper support bars, but they look different than the ones in this pic.
Plus, I'm not sure if they are long enough, only being 19-1/2''

Ummmmmm NO! Those are Empi bumper bars. The OP has posted pics of non-VW related handles of some sort.

See if the threads are metric and report back. If they're not metric then that's solid evidence for the refrigerator handle theory. |

My bet: double oven, Mobile home size.
Edit: or perhaps a metal pantry cabinet from the same 60s era. _________________

Maybe the PO was trying to make his own bumper bars out of those handles, I should have been more specific
I chose the other pic for one reason only and boy howdy it worked _________________ Rick

Good idea to check the threads! I checked and they are NOT metric. Anyone know of any good refrigerator handle websites? |
