Understood..I realize the wideband is using a different sensor that is much more accurate outside stoichiometric. That said, installing it a separate bung won't change much if you're interfacing to digifant with it's "dumb" output.
You only need one bung, and rather than monitoring the ECU -> connection directly as I'm doing currently, you'd run one output (emulator) to your ECU, and a 2nd output to the MTX controller/gauge. Correct?

Yeah, but...I'm under the impression that a Digi ECU designed to use a Narrowband O2 won't work with a Wideband O2. Am I wrong?

Just scanned the tech docs..the Mtx has two analog 0-5v outputs. You would connect one of those outputs to emulate the narrowband function to your ECU.

From the manual, it appears this analog output can be programmed .. so an interesting way to alter air/fuel in closed loop operation. Maybe some mileage gains to be had by leaning things out a bit at cruise. Has anyone out there programmed these curves??

Love the logging option too via serial. This gives the digifant system the option to at least log air/fuel ratio if fitted with the MTX.

The wideband sensor only connects to the MTX-L gauge. The gauge then has an output that can be used to drive the stock ECU.

That said, I don't use the emulated output. I only use the wideband while tuning, so I put the extra bung in an easy to access spot. It's easier than trying to patch into the ECU signal.

is outstanding and inexpensive IMO.

Do you have multiple o2 sensor bungs installed, & just move the sensor as needed to different cylinders?

No, you just use the standard bung. The AFR is total system, not cylinder by cylinder.

It's for a dual IDF WBX I bought last month. I want to check both carbs independently
