A-ha, that may be one reason for the odd fit. I want to say that Chico's was designed for the earlier generator and studs because we had to modify his mounting bracket to fit my '69 fan shroud. Maybe the DDB did the same thing? |
Yes, I think they did, and that would explain why this fits so badly. I should see how it fits a 6v shroud. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

I'll take some pictures of the mounting bracket tonight Tram. Maybe it'll give you some ideas.
Are there any small difference between early/late fan shrouds in the generator area? I could be mistaken, but I thought I heard that the DDB and the Chico kits needed to be slightly modified for use on later fan shrouds, but I always thought they were the same... |
Yes, the 6 volt fan shroud is designed for the smaller diameter generator. I don't know by how much though, but the bolt/stud spacing should be narrower. |
The difference is 5 3/16ths for the 12 volt, versus 4 5/8ths for 6 volt. I had both out yesterday, so I was able to get a measurement. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
