I have no clue what condition or anything my radio is in, The antenna wire is there and that's about it. I don't know if the other wires fell down out of reach or what goes where. Looking for somebody to help me with what wire goes where, I know the ground but what is the covered up plug etc etc.

Thanks, and let the samba wizards do their magic

Only your M plate will tell you if it's "stock", a very cool period German accessory nonetheless, very expensive in it's day.

Here's a Blaupunkt manual that should be close, the wire connections will be the same anyways: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/1968_69_blaupunkt_essen.php , you are missing the brown speaker plug, it's a flat piece of bakelite with 2 prongs that go in the holes on the back, kinda like this:

From what I was able to figure out before from some friends in Ohio, it may be a Grundig? The buttons could match to AM, FM, longwave, and music specialty function . The music button comes from a friend in Iowa explaining the markings on the 3 different buttons on the radio in his 6V bug, minus the FM. I don't recall which letter is for which though.

Here's mine:

The plugs/wiring at the back are in different places but the face is the same.

I don't think you can buy one but it is not very difficult to make your own plug...

you need a 5 (or 6) pins DIN male socket (270°)
2 resistors 4.7Khowms
a jack3.5 chassis socket
an of course cable (I use microphone cable)

this is a drawing I've made...

it's really work fine, I make one for each of my vw , so I can connect my I-pod in every car... or just listen the radio...

You can click on the picture and it will open a new window with a larger drawing. That works on many other pictures on this site too!

What is that style plug similar to? Would I be able to use two banana plugs or something?

I think so. I know there are several sizes of banana plugs, one might work. Do you have a vintage electronics parts place that's local? I had an issue with a 1960's tube amp cable and I found a place that had NOS connectors that look JUST like that. I imagine that the connectors are not VW-specific. Although I don't think any stock nazi's will be pulling the radio out Wink

They aren't, common stuff for the 50's-70's, any well stocked electronics supply store should have something that fits, bring your radio and show the old guy in the back.

The link is better, clicking on the picture opens a new tab/window with the same size image in it for some reason.

hello

Sorry , but I don't know sapphires radios (for US market only)

if it has a DIN female terminal, I suppose you can Wink

some, who know electronic well better than me, tell, that we can make a connector on any model, but you have to find on the PCB,the radio's way and the amplifier's way to insert the connector...
I am clear? Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed
