Congratulations on getting your engine in and running, quite an impressive project you have going.

Some questions I have are, how did you paint your rear bed latches? I see you have them as all black, I like that option and wish to do the same for my Doka paint project. Did you powder coat them, or some other process? I hear the powder coat is still paint and will rub off on high use areas. Also did you remove your latch handles first? If so how?

Thanks.

Hey Bman,
You can remove the plastic handles. I did it and so can you.
Give me a call so I can talk you through it.
Here are some pictures to help, but you still need some more info on how to beat on them and not destroy them. You need to drill a hole that doesn't go through to unlock the handle.
The latches were sand blasted, nickel plated and them powder coated.
This is the best way to do it if you don't want the west coast salty air rusting them up again. The plating is about $50 minimum charge. Send them here and I can get it done for you at a minimum charge as well.
Tony

Great work, very clean and original.

Oh, all Syncro Crewcabs have the panel removed to store the spare wheel. The usual problem is that with the rear seat frame in place, the biggest wheel/tyre combo you can get into it is a 205/14.

Syncro 16 maybe but mine is underneath like all 14" syncros. Same as the 14" syncro dokas that i have seen on this side of the pond.

I believe it was an option. M469 I think. My Swedish Syncro Doka has the spare under the seat.

I finally finished hooking up the intercooler. It holds 2.5 gallons. The front rad is a 12x24x2". by siliconintakes # 117.
The Dayton pump moves 21 gal / min. I noticed a big difference in EGT when I engage the pump. I have a switch at the dash that lets me turn on the pump at will.
Soon I will be installing a oil cooler from setrab #19 Row Series 1 (single 5.6" fan) A19F225-FP more on this later.
You can see the MBC boost controller by Turbosmart # TS-0101-1001 works great!

That is one slick set up. I like how you added the bleeder on the top of the intercooler...I always thought they should come that way. Keep it up !
