I am a new owner of a 72 bus, with a modified 1700cc engine. The previous owners installed a single carb with an electronic fuel pump. There are wires that do not match up with any diagram, but the thing ran when I put it in the garage. I pulled the engine out to clean up the hickory nuts and spiders, etc, and put it back together. Now, I can't get the bugger started. I may have put a wire on the coil incorrectl, but I'm not sure. I could use some guidance quick. Thanks! |

Are you getting spark? If so, are you're plug wires installed in the proper firing order. Is your timing right? The wire from the distributor goes to the negative side of the coil and the positive side wire should be hot when the ignition is switched on. You may want to find top dead center on the motor and check that the rotor is pointing at #1 cylinder on the cap.Good luck! milotype2 |

Check the exaust for any air. Maybe here is a gasket that needs to be change. If cool air enters the exaust it will back fire. Ckeck the spark, timming, but i guess it is a gasket on the manifolds or escape header/muffler. |
