I don't know. There was at least 3 or 4 members of the 1500 club at this years T-3 Invasion. I was told by 2 of them it's a little low in front, and 1 thought it was just right. But then a trunk load of stuff for a 3000 mile road trip, along with a full tank of fuel adds up to drop the nose a little more than I wanted. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Membership is filtered through Jason (notchboy) with the help of a few others if needed. He is much easier than most think, but there are a few no-no's that can not be messed with. _________________ '68 Lotus White T34 automatic sunroof

Yeah, you have to go back to the first page to see what's not allowed. But, IF you attempt to keep it as close to stock as possible, then you shouldn't really have a problem.
I don't know IF I'm in or not, but I did get a "friends of the 1500 Club" T shirt (my wife wears it as it's a little small for me). And you can see the build "book" in my signature, of what I went thru with mine. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Sorry Jonesy your car wont be able to wear the sticker
But it is a cool ride for sure - just not "stock". As always the Cesar- myself will make the final nod on who is in or out. There are several over the top restos going on that would be a great addition to the club. I have my eye on them. Tom the 62 ghia is for sure in that mix and if its going all stock then it would be an honor to have the club sticker on that fine restoration.
Bob you know you are in I think you have more fun playing like you are not. The ace up your sleve to allow yourself to slam the ghia on earlies
As with everything else, Im super busy with life. The club for me has taken a huge back seat. Several full time members have the same tune playing in regards to their involvement as well. I still have 2 T3s but they are locked down at Trams compound at the moment.
The future is as its always been. Members and info. Both of which haven't been tended to as much as Id like.
Merry Christmas all! Keep up the good work.

Yup, dropping it and non-stock rims will keep you out. Sorry. My T-34 is real close to being in, but the front was too low, according to a few members of the 1500 club that saw it in person. It probably didn't help that I had the front loaded with a bunch of stuff for a 3000 mile trip. That's ok with me, as I built the car to drive and enjoy. |
Same here, i built this car for me - no one else...
... i just fancied a 1500 club sticker |
Just hold out for an OCT3 sticker. Hopefully big things happen in 2013... _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

Merry Christmas to you Jason, the rest of the 1500 Club, and the Type 3 community.
Hopefully 2013 will bring some more activity to the 1500 club and maybe gain a few new members |

Thanks for the heads up Jason. I know you've been busy with life, and on trying to get Tram rolling on your Ghia -vert project. I know he couldn't get as much done as he would have liked (you were already supposed to have the car back by now), but then you getting injured didn't help you out any either.
But you're right, as there have been some really nice super detailed resto's going on lately. I don't know IF it was something I started or not, but I really like the direction things have progressed to. Between Thom's and John's T-34 Ghia projects, I can almost re-play doing a bunch of those same things I went thru on my own car.
Merry Christmas Jason, and Happy New Year to you and your family, along with everyone else here on the Samba. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Yep, the slacker hisself is reporting in here...
It's been a rough year, but I'm over the hump. The only problem is my schedule is 10 months behind, and my biggest problem is staying focused on what I need to get done in order. I'm not taking any new work beyond what I have in line here already until mid 2014. Fortunately I've got some good help, so we will get everything done.
My challenge to Jason this year is this: Let's see who can go longest without breaking shit on our bodies. I've already dropped 15 lbs because I just don't want any excess squeezing what's left of L 4-5.
It was great seeing everyone's stuff getting done, and done right this year... let's keep the tradition rolling. I have Joel's old 1963 Vari here and it will get done, but will have to wait until all the stuff that got postponed gets done first.
All bullshit aside, Merry Christmas, wankpots! _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

I wasn't picking on you personally Tram, but it's just been that kind of year where goofy stuff seems to have happened. First you mess up your back, then Jason slices his leg open. I'd love to see both of you have a healthy year for a change. And that's not counting the other stuff I've seen happen this year.
But I do agree on seeing the projects that happened this year, where it seems like more people are taking the extra time to detail it out, rather than just slap it together and call it good. Let's keep it going guys. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Yes there are many projects on the burner now that will be raising the bar. There is even one going on in the deep, dark, hidden area of the 1500 club lair that will remain unknown to most of the 1500 club.
