I can vouch for myself as being 'busy' this year.

Have been working on my new room in which my black panel van will be stored and the green 'S' will be restored.

Took 22 cubic meters of concrete, 5,500 bricks and a lot of effort but you can see it's close now.

I must appologise for my '56 oval sneaking into the first photo too....

As you can see, the floor is polished concrete (1 x more polishing to be done soon) and yes there is a lot to go - external render, internal walls, electrical etc but the day is getting closer where my 1500's once again get some attention.

All the best for 2013 folks. Make your dreams come true!

Yup, dropping it and non-stock rims will keep you out. Sorry. My T-34 is real close to being in, but the front was too low, according to a few members of the 1500 club that saw it in person. It probably didn't help that I had the front loaded with a bunch of stuff for a 3000 mile trip. Wink That's ok with me, as I built the car to drive and enjoy. Cool

Same here, i built this car for me - no one else...

... i just fancied a 1500 club sticker Laughing

Just hold out for an OCT3 sticker. Hopefully big things happen in 2013... Cool

Sounds like a plan to me. Good luck!

Those of my friends that have seen this car will agree it's in a similar condition to when these photo's were taken - about 1965 or so!

Now you all know why I have spent the last year building a room for this car. It does need some restoration work, but more importantly it needs a nice warm room where it can sit and be admired.

Cheers Jonesy!

That car is a super special 'S'. It's one of only three in South Australia and the only velvet green one here in the country. Being RHD of course takes it to another rarity level for the rest of the world.

Once my doors are on the room and the floor is polished once more (3000 grit finish), the notchback will come out from hiding for the first time in over 10 years.

I can't wait!!

All the best for 2013 fellow 1500 folk.

I went for a walk in the neighborhood today (Silver Lake district of Los Angeles) and heard a familiar sound. I turned around just in time to see a very clean bone stock pearl white 1500 notch fly by. I thought I knew all the Type 3s in the immediate area, but it's not one I've seen around before. I wonder if the owner is a Sambanista? Think

I rarely wear belts though. Or pants.

I'm guessing that's not in the same context as when my grandfather said something similar...

There is (was?) a reproduction available at a reasonable price, so making a belt buckle isn't out of the realm of reason. Lee Hedges may still have some of these available.

There's lots of uses for them. I thought of hanging one of these centrally on a Pedro custom made package tray jailbar for my Type 34. Or, dressing up a spare glovebox door.

I need a bolt on belt cover and bolts. I thought it was crazy when I got my car, because it looks like someone chromed the fan housing and front tin. I figured maybe someone repopped them in chrome back in the day. No, it's the original one. I have a later model belt cover just kinda smashed down on top of it. It doesnt fly off driving it, but I know I need a bolt on one. and bolts

I know for sure I have a spare and you can have it, but I won't have a chance to dig it out for another week.

If you need it, please PM me to keep it on top of my priorities list.

Last Fall I was contacted by an ad agency and asked if I would like to participate in a photoshoot for Vera Bradley. Vera Bradley is a designer of many things, mostly handbags for women... easier to just ask the women in your life Wink

Last week, my wife received her Spring catalog of "In Style" magazine and as I rifled through the pages looking for a cameo shot of my very early (Feb-1962) car, I found an ad from Vera Bradley using an open door of a late-model light blue Type-3. Well, today, I decided to see if I could find Notchboy's previously owned treasure for myself and I did! There were two You Tube videos and an insert in their "Be Splashy" catalog. If anyone can find more pics/videos, please let me know.

Note the importance of Pedro's racks... Cool

Awesome!

Sometimes we get Vera Bradley ads in the mail, if I get anything with the Notch in it I will post scans.
