For the last two years my '79 winter bus would start stalling after several minutes of driving when the outside temperature fell below 0*C. The auxiliary air regulator was the problem. I removed it and looked through the hole and aperture was only partially open. I applied 12V to it and nothing - the aperture didn't close. Put it in the freezer and still nothing - aperture didn't move. Installed a spare and the engine runs great again and no stalling. It runs better than it has in years.

Joey,

How many ohms are you seeing between the terminals? About 30 is the spec for the little heater in it.

Randy,

Forgot to add that info... 0 ohms (short) between the terminals.

Can't complain as it was a 35 year old part.
