I figured to keep motivation I would start a build thread here on the samba.
The passenger pan has a small hole about the size of my finger nail directly under the seat (weird that no rust in battery tray area), and there is a hole 1 inch above the fuel tank that is the size of my thumb nail. None of the rust is major and I see no reason to even replace the pans. I am the third owner of this car, and I believe it lived most of its life in California. The plan is to paint it Anthracite because that will go good with the interior I have for it.

I left Houston at 6pm and drove to meet Nate in Dallas it made for a long night I did not get home until 4am and I had to work the next day.

Notice the silicone on the seal....I laughed at that, but it saved the package tray it is spotless!

Separated the pan. Not one broken bolt. Every bolt came out with no issues.

Not much to report from this weekend. I spent several hours freeing up a hinge on one of the doors it was frozen solid. some quarter panal work was done as well.
