Hi guys
I would like to know what options of radio would be PRECISELY correct for a 1954 pre-A 356
I am not meaning what radio would fit but actually which one would be a fully 1954-correct one
many thanks!! _________________ 50 11A

A German ' Telefunken' would be acceptable. These valve (tube ) type radio's were in the 356 even from 1951. They were a nice radio, although of course with digital now in use it cuts down the choice of analog stations you can pick up. Or it does with my valve radio in GB
My brother still has I think the original manual which should show the Telefunken actual model number . I could ask if you need that to source one.

I imagine that if you requested a Telefunken radio in 1954, you would have gotten this model ID 53 U:

Hello Mr. White,
Finding the radio itself is going to be a whole lot easier than finding that face plate. The telefunken script is being reproduced, and the aluminum trim ring that goes in the dash is also being reproduced. The hardest part to find is that D shaped chrome trim piece that the speaker screen is behind. I agree with Drew that the ID 53U or possibly the 54U Telefunken would most likely be the radio in your car when new. Here is a good telefunken site to check out:
