Just mount it high with a hose to each valve over and one to the case.

Ive fabbed a bracket to the above left of your battery for customers builds . The alternative is to mount on your shroud. I dont like to do it and that is my last suggestion if no other choice. Main thing is that it needs to be above the engine. Fab a 90degree plate.

I had it mounted on the fan shroud before I did my tare down. I did not like the look. I was thinking of putting it high and to the left of the Eng. Dose it matter if the hoses are different lengths to the valve covers. It's a 1600 duel port.

You do realize they will fit on the back half of the shroud. Ans when you pull a motor there will be no hoses to disconnect.

The hoses can be any length, just use at least 1/2 inch hose. As said before mount it high. I've mounted them on the back of the shroud before using weld in tabs. Keeps everything clean and simple and you can pull everything out with the motor.

A 1600 does not need any auxillary breather box. Just put one of those small $8 filters on the oil filler tube is all you need.

I used to run my bus with one of those small filters you are suggesting. I found on long trips "Fresno to Sacramento or San Jose" the oil dip stick would get pushed up and after a while things would start to leak. I was told by the guys at CB performance that with a 1600 in a bus with a stock Trans and reduction boxes I am running to high of RPM and have way to much pressure being generated in the eng. I put the breather on and it worked. I just had a Trans built for me with 4.12 gearing and changed tire size to 195 70s. I believe this should also help.

I don't vent valve covers anymore. Put a larger vent on the crankcase if possible.

YES!
I do agree changing or adjusting the valves is harder to do know with vented valve covers. Vent the case ?

I only vent the 1/2 valve cover, run a line from my oil pump block off and run a CB oil filler breather box without any baffles under it. I use one small filter at the top of it

Nice motor, but doesnt the left side carb arm linkage mount to the bottom of the center mount, rather than the top, to make less of an angle?

What's up with all the Kitty Litter under that motor Laughing Laughing
Just messin' with ya Very Happy

Sarcasm button Off, Seriously tho...I run both valve covers and the Oil/Alt Stand to a Box and added a breather filter to the top, mounted to the firewall. Adjusting valves is not hard, pull the cover and let it hang there.
Oh and the oil spot there is from the block off plate for the type 3 dipstick and has been fixed Wink

New motor blues Wink Seems I can build leakproof motors for customers, but not for myself....well not first shot. First time I ever used bigmouth PR tubes. After I put the big springs in the heads it was all good. Had the heads off to do that.

The carb linkage is too tall for the Comp Eliminator manifolds and I got it 7 days before I left to Bonneville. The carbs were synch'd at full throttle Shocked I think I bolted it in from the bottom after this picture was taken, this is right after the break in. I had to shorten the center section to get them to work at all and there is a bolt that drops the rear one to clear the alternator

I never had any oil spray issues I think the combination of a big hole under the stand (no baffle plate) and the breather box being right there kills all the air velocity coming out of the crank case so it doesn't spray out the vent

What oil filter is that? A car that I recently bought has a giant Fram PH8A filter and right now it's under the right rear fender... and I want to put an A1 Sidewinder exhaust on, so this weekend I was going to see about relocating the filter to the left side, like yours is, but I'd like to get a smaller filter like yours so it doesn't hang down so close to the ground.
