Yes, as soon as I upgrade the buggy to the way I want it. The last thing will be paint.

I want to up grade the front and rear suspension, upgrade to a bigger engine,

upgrade the seats and interior, upgrade front and rear cages, and just make

it more of a true duel sport buggy. That's my plan, I hope it will be short time

before all the goals are achieved.

I am guessing the windscreen slides down in the body?

Cool looking body!

Yep it does Joe.

They have welded a piece of angle on the bottom of the bars thats stopping it from coming out of the top. I will grind it down as to not do any damage to the fiberglass.

Found this in the old and odd gallery and I really kind of like it, those headlights are the best. Laughing I've think I've ruled out almost all legitimate manufacturers...but who knows? A little EMPI Sportster in there? I thought it was worth sharing, I posted in the abortions and bastards thread too. Too cold in the garage and a slow day on the boards... Rolling Eyes

Anyone know what kind of body this is? I tried to use DBA, but don't know enough to be able to search properly. I think it is probably quite common but bear with me, I am new to the Dune Buggy World.

Thanks Guys, plugged El Lobo back into google and get lots that look like it. This is the only photo I have of this one though, got it from google.

Love the shape of this body, and this is a particularly good one, sits just right.

Cheers,
Brett

They are my favorite body style....This is a Lithia Mark III....The difference is the front hood lip sticks out farther and the fenders have a little flare to help wider tire clearance.

Hey Samba-ites. Long time lurker. Air cooled bug was dormant, flared up again...

So I found this nearby me. Seller claims it's a Manx, sitting on a shortened '67-'68 pan, but I say otherwise. Checked DBA, maybe I didn't plug the right parameters in. Sorry I didn't get pictures of obvious things.

One thing that threw me for a loop was the removable front decklid. That should be something that should be a plugin for the DBA search engine...
The dash curves like a manx, but the "bases" for headlight mounts and the cut outs on the leading edge of the front fender are making me scratch my head...

This is looking at the tub head-on with the front decklid removed.

This is the pan, obviously. It has been shortened.

This is a photo standing at the front of the tub, that's my shadow of me holding the decklid up.

Okay silly me didn't get a clear picture of the tail, but here is the back end of the tub, you can make out the rear of the pan, and a piece of square aluminum riveted to the body...

Underneath the fender is the glassed-in support tubes, and I think the windshield frame...

Like my post count shows, I am pretty new to the aircooled world, so I didn't really know what to look for. I know '68-up was the IRS and smaller lug pattern. I don't know what to look for up front suspension-wise, and I forgot to check the shifter area for any numbers. What are we looking at here. The closest thing I found was an "X" name on DBA. Time to check the X-Files!

Welcome!

I do not think that is a true Manx, but maybe a X-File clone body. But it is a true cool project! Looks like the front fender cut outs may have been for a front tubular bumper. Cannot tell from the photos a whole buch about the pan, but if it is at a decent price, it would make a really nice buggy.

Does the seller have a title that matches the pan?

Looking at purchasing this but don't know if it's a good price at $7,400. I also would like to find out what it is. It's on a 71 pan and the hood resembles a Sears Rascal, but the rear and where the headlights mount to the fenders doesn't match the photos on the identifier website. Here are some photos:

It is a nice looking buggy, but not a $ 7400 buggy, IMO. As always, it is worth what someone is willing to pay.

The detractors for me are:
No bumpers
No roll bar or Cage
Most likely wheel adapters
Wiring looks shaky at best
Cheap tail lights
Cheap mirrors that look out of place
Wrong type of headlight buckets

On the plus side:
Very nice body design
Very nice seats
Cool rims
Most likely fire it up and be driving right now.

IMO, $ 4500 tops.

I do not know the body design name.

A fish for every hook. Don't worry...you were on the right side of that deal.

I also question whether those headlights were just off road lights or street legal hi/lo beams.

X2.

The seller did well. Or maybe I am selling way too cheap.
