These are awesome buses! I really used to hate them as a kid, so ugly! Now they are beautiful looking to me, but I never see tham driving around like I did as a kid. Rare and cool, love them! Very Happy

Hi.

This is my 1971 factory high top. It was a firetruck in the beginning so it was just a little rust to deal with.

When I found it it was all painted with flowers and so.

I just got it back from with fresh paint Montanared with two layer clearcoat.

just had a gathering in seattle...6 bus guys, 4 brought busses. the westy was the shortest one there...and i know where one more is that didnt make it too...ill get pics up here....someday. love high tops.

BTW, that red one with fresh paint is more of a HighRoof, rather than a top. but still, way cooler. the metal roof is RARE AS EFF. the fiberglass ones can easily be out on most buses...those metal roofs....not so much. Shocked

My buddy had a 1971 that he just sold. It was bought out of California and went to the midwest where a father/son cleaned out the interior and got it mechanically sound. He bought it from them and moved it to TN, where he replaced the rotten out rain gutters with a whole new roof clip and repainted it mint green/white. He installed the new interior from UK and had an immaculate bus. Whoever got it got a steal on it! I think I have photos at home on my computer

The two early ones that I have don't have a seal or chrome trim on the sides, but the 77 does, so I would assume originally they did.
