Thanks, it was much easier than I expected. I should have done it a long time ago. Better late than never.
Now I need to hit up tower paints for some blue/white paint.

so i am thinking about going irs. i keep eating fulcrum plates and axles in my bus. plus the main bearing is loud as hell. so what a perfect time to make it better.

do you have any pics of the stepped arms? i would like to do that also so i dont cut my frame.

EDIT. found your thread on SBS. screw all that work. ill just keep my swing axle since its already set up for it. lol.

and where are the updates? Laughing

Sorry. I have been busy at work.
I bought sheet metal for the tubs but until I can get over to Gab Fabs shop I dont think I will be able to make them.
The stepped arms arent too bad to make, I could make you a set if you want.

I also decided to try flattening out a wavy curled up interior panel.
I hit the whole back side with the mist setting on our shower then put a shitload of weight on it and let it sit for a few hours. Worked really good, I bet it would work better in the summer time.

Still need to make quick pins for the shocks so I can pull them out of the way when I jack up the rear since the tire drops so far (adjustable spring plates)
Then I will be able to drive it to my friends for rust repair.
Getting new inner rockers, long rocker, cargo rocker, front floor sections, cargo floor sections and a few small things. Then I will build the tubs and seat frame.

Chase-What is that steering wheel off of? It is very interesting. Nice job on the tubs, BTW. Very subtle.

The wheel is off an late 39 or 40s chevy. It was splined but also had a woodruff key so I just filed the splines down to the correct taper and it worked perfect. Also the horn button fits perfectly. Cool
I had an old Merc wheel on the mango, I like using stuff you dont see often.
I made the tubs out of too thin a gauge sheetmetal so I will be making new ones.

65VW69Stang, what are your plans? There is a HUGE amount of info on this site to answer any questions you have.
Here is a great thread to start with.

Firstly, kudos for warning people about carnage, and doing so without getting belligerent and defensive. It certainly makes the post more pleasant to read.

Secondly, kudos on what looks to my eyes like excellent craftsmanship. Those are some fine looking welds, too.

Thank you, Im an iron worker so welding/fabbing isnt too big a deal for me sheetmetal is a little harder to deal with (less forgiving).
I usually dont post my builds here because I try to avoid drama, especially online drama. But I know some people will appreciate it and maybe I can help others out. The people who dont like it arent wrong, its just not their style. I figured there is no excuse for people to come on and bash me with the warnings.

Not sure what happened to this picture but here is the trimmed cradle

SO, now if the next owner decided to do Air ride it would only need a crossmember and bag mounts welded on, the adjustable plates would also be a HUGE plus for a bag system.

I am having problems figuring out the throttle cable. it worked fine with the single carb but now with the dual carbs it gets jammed up. It seems like its actually inside the tube because if I unhook it from the carb linkage the linkage works real smooth.
I think I will replace the cable and see if the return springs are just not strong enough. So I can either anchor them a little farther or get stronger ones. May also look into adding a small one underneath at the pedal linkage.

I am hoping to finish up the tubs soon and drive this around for a while to work out the kinks before it goes up for sell. When I bought it I knew I wasnt going to keep it. I have a short list of "keeper" buses 15 window, DC and
