Oh you funny west coasters
Some crazy fool (not me ) would fix this pile.
There's some good stuff on it regardless and if the other guy backs out, I'd drag it out and pass it along to someone else. However it's rough enough that I'm not heartbroken if I don't get it. |

That looks like a typical Vermont Bus
Adam is right on the Money, lots of good parts, and/or pass it along to the UK boys... It would be a fun extraction, if it doesn't break in half... _________________ Tom

Well yesterday I had a guy tell me about four buses he remembered seeing in a woods local to me, so on the hunt I went and tracked down the very nice sweet old lady that owns the property and struck a deal with here to o back n atv and see what she has and see if there is anything worth pulling out . Well me and 2 buddies got on our atvs and made the 3/4 mile trek through muddy feilds and searched the woods for any sign of the buses. We went through just about the entire woods and found nothing until we came over the last hill in the back corner and there they were. Very rough but lots of great usable parts! There was a 57 Kombi, 58 double door walk through pressed bumper, 58 Kombi walk through with all seats, and a 64 hard top westy . We hauled 3 pressed bumpers and an early deck lid out on our quads yesterday and going to head back out shortly to pull all seats out . We will get them all out of there and hopefully help put other buss back on the road!!
For some reason m damn pics arnt loading up . I will try a lil later sorry ! _________________ Joe

Not really a "today" in bus hunting history, but a bus that I've been on the hunt for, for about 3 years. An elderly woman whose husband was the original owner is using it for a storage shed and won't let it go - yet. I've told a few others about it, and they've tried as well, but so far, it's a no-go. In due time I guess, in due time. It's nothing crazy special, but does have all of it's seats and is completely OG.

Did you explain to the owner that you would take all the seats out if it for him. And it would give him more storage room inside? _________________ Joe

Offered a new wooden shed with windows, shelves, added cash, and labor to empty the bus into the new shed. Her response was, "If it's worth that much to you, it's worth that much to me." Logic like that just leaves me speechless. As the saying goes, "You can't argue with a sick mind." |

Went and talked to the owner of this one for a couple of hours today.
I stopped by a couple of weeks ago trying to get him to sell it. I threw a couple of numbers out but he said he did not want to let it go yet, but said if he did he would call me. I made sure to be polite and chatted a bit and took off.
I decided to swing back by today to give him some beetle metal I do not plan on using. Learned alot about him and his true love for VW's, I would guess he is 70. I offered to help on anything he had going on and did not even try to re engage talk about buying the bus. I would rather help him get it on the road then see it sit. If he decided to sell I would certainly grab it as the paint is in killer shape aside from where the wheel wells were cut and where someone cut the long rocker off.

Saved this hard top Westy yesterday from a property that a junkyard was buying out....very complete, and pretty solid, especially for the Mid-West. Plan is to sell this one...hope someone puts it back on the road.
