Hey guys, just trying to get clarification...didn't find what I was looking for in the "search".
I know Glenn is running AA thick wall 92's but curious if a particular combo is better for an 1835 set up? I'm looking at:

http://aapistons.com/shop/vw-piston-and-cylinder-k...-case.html

or the:

http://aapistons.com/shop/vw-piston-and-cylinder-k...inder.html

The first set only requires case to be machined for 90.5 and heads 94. Is that better than the second set that requires 94 for both case and heads?

The ones that fit a 94 size case hole came first, they just make them like 94 cylinders except with a smaller bore.
The ones that fit a 90.5/92 case size actually make more sense IMO, unless your case is already cut for 94

Good points, I tried to look at it from a practical standpoint. If I go with the first set, it requires less machining and that's good right? Then again, if I go with the second set and for some reason I want to run a 1915, the 94's can be slid in the already machined case and use the same heads, right?

right
If you have the case cut for 94 cylinders make sure they deck it .060 like your supposed to(but some "forget")
If it is a 10mm stud case then don't cut for 94, no room for case savers!

I had the base of my 92TW's turned down to fit in a 90.5 register. I did that so the case would have more meat around the case savers.

I did that before AA offered it as an option.

You can have a Mag Case with 10mm studs, and inserts, opened for 94mm, you just have to find the shops that use the correct inserts.
