I assume its just a ride down and shuttle back to the syncros?

The way it worked last year: Park the vans at the end, shuttle to the start.

Jeremy can confirm, but if the ride this year is taking virtually the same route as last year, you'll have this to climb up (a mile or so) at the end, before getting back to the vans:

And confirmed: Dad is also out for this ride (and we won't be bringing kayaks - no room Sad ). But we'll be over at the Brand Trails on Friday while you guys do this group ride... in case anyone else would like to ride there too. Smile

In case you were wondering who is coming, Diversity AND unity @ SS13:

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

...and a call out to Montana, Wyoming, Texas and all the rest of you who were unable to attend this year. We'll see you for SS14!

An email is going out tonight to all registered. If you do not receive it, you are either not registered, or something else is afoot with the internets.

That Solstice summary email or some version of it will likely be posted up here as well, for those last minute types.

Now, back to the planning...

Yep, exactly as Kammy described, lots of cross country/down on ledgey, slickrocky, moab flavored singletrack, then tie into the Gemini Bridges Road & a climb out-descent to Hwy 191. Am hoping to get a count for setting up a ride with Jesse & Coyote Shuttle (http://www.coyoteshuttle.com/home/). We'll drop vans at the bottom and shuttle to the put-in.

Gotta have the cold brews at the bottom of the ride!

It looks like the Moab temperatures for next week will be in the high 80's and low 90's. Bring plenty of water and sunblock!

Well, I'm on my way from Colorado and sitting here at the border of ut and co and surprised to see I have internet access. Man is it hot. Inside of my van when I pulled into camp was 97. After our weird Colorado late winter it just feels, well, hot. Found a bit of shade and a luke warm beer and life is good again. See you all in Moab in a couple days.

I plan on leaving Prescott sometime Wednesday morning. I want to check out Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, and possibly Horseshoe Bend on the way up. So I'm planning on showing up in Moab sometime Wednesday night. Possibly early Thursday morning.

I feel for you, my daughter gets migraines and I can't imagine her having one Moab. Hope you feel better!

I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon and camping somewhere in the mountains; hope to make camp in early afternoon Thursday.

This is all assuming that the unbearably loud tick coming from my engine is just a hydraulic lash adjuster and not something more sinister, in which case I'll be sending out an SOS from somewhere around Vail Pass. Sad

Looking forward to seeing everybody!

Boo! My original plan was to leave Monday morning but my A-driver backed out so I scratched a few stops off the trip and pushed the start back to Tuesday morning. Then I got lazy and pushed it back to Wednesday so I could recover from this past week of work. Bah! Maybe I'll see you along the way.
