Just started looking into other alternatives to the stock clutch cable on my 65 and came across this system from AK http://airkewld.com/index.php?page=shop.product_de...Itemid=270

Looks pretty nice, but can't find any feedback on it. Anyone use them and what's your experience? Also, any other options available?

Can I ask why?

$110 is rather expensive...

Here's a $30 alternative:

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1087010

The main area of improvement is the clutch hook.

X2 on the clutch pedal shaft from Unique Parts for $30. I'm running a 1700lb pressure plate on my Beetle. I don't really notice a difference on my foot, but I bought & installed the pedal shaft for piece of mind and hopefully it will prolong the longevity of both the cable & pedal shaft itself.

I agree, $30 is a much better price, but I know nothing about either. Never even saw them until today. Thanks for the heads up on the $30 one though. Seems like it's pretty close to the one from AK and worth a try.

I went with the Bigfoot option and roller pedal from Unique parts and love them!

I just Googled it and I must have one. I like the extra space between the clutch and brake pedals. What a bargain. Thanks!!!

Or, you could do the genuine VW upgrade:

I also have the Big Foot ($30) one from Unique and it works great.

Nothing against Air Kewled but how the hell can there be a $80 diff between them.

I don't have the unique-parts one myself, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. I'm sure the airkewled one is nice, but I doubt it's worth the price difference. This is just my opinion, not backed up by anything, but it seems airkewled just copied unique-parts idea and jacked up the price. Yeah yeah I know it's probably high quality and whatever, but.. c'mon.

Does the Bigfoot set up interfere with the floor/firewall mounted high beam foot switch?
