Well, that's pretty cool (with the obvious exception of the fender visors over the wheels).

This is what the Boxster should have been, I think. Except with a 4cyl version of the flat 6, of course.

They did a good job keeping the seat-to-axle distance short. For that matter, they did well to keep it short axle-to-axle.

I wonder what it weighs?

Agree that it should have come from Porsche. Maybe they will be inspired by this?

PGO also produced a 356A Speedster Replica. In fact, they started off as a 356A Speedster Replica(r) manufacturer.

This replica(r) developped into the so called 'Speedster II' and this Cevennes is the even more 'contemporary version' of a Speedster.

It has developped over the years and looks pretty good now.

By the way: engine and other technical parts are Peugeot...

I would love to see a modern version of the 356 by one of the big companies. Preferably rear engine and affordable.

Right now the closest thing out there I would say is the Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ. I have driven both and am very impressed, just wish they had more displacement for their weight. A 2.2 or more would be nice, the hp is good but just needs more low end torque. That little engine has to push around a 2750 lb car which is 750 more than a 356. I know rumor has it that they are going to add a turbo but that is not my cup of tea.

When I bumped my 356a engine up to 1900cc the car became such a joy to drive.

For me AUDI TT looks the part but falls short on price, weight and AWD. The beauty of the 356 was it's simplicity and light weight. Dan
