I do want it gone, Matt. I have always wanted it gone but not in the way you think.
We live so close to the ocean that the gulls drop seashells on our lawn. It rains 70% of the year here. Mom was sick of the VW scene years ago and told Dad to liquidate before the move to Oregon, advising him that the climate wouldn't be good for the cars. He brought them anyway and died, leaving us with a mess. Meanwhile, there is a mortgage to pay, plus Dad's old medical bills.
What I would like to see is this stuff go back to the community, not wasted. I would like some cash, yes, but I am not foolish enough to believe that I can get top dollar, nor would I try. Dad made little to no profit on what he sold because it was more about being helpful to fill a need than lining one's pocket with green. I am of the same mindset.
Coming up with fair prices and shipping are not my favorite tasks but letting everything rust away is senseless. That is the change you are picking up from me...the understanding that the longer things sit, the more things become useless.
Breaking news!!! I was just offered a chance to sell all of this as an entire lot. I'm going to see how this pans out.

Michelle - If you sell it all be happy!
You asked for a camper interior handle picture.
here ya go.
If you don't sell the lot and people want stuff ask them to ship you a box with pre paid shipping then just back to them. USPS or UPS or any shipper that can get to you for a pick up.
I hope all is well with Mom and baby! _________________ Nothin left to do....

Michelle, if you haven't sold the whole lot already, my girlfriend (esechter) and I are prepared to buy a green westy and any relevant spare parts. Send me a PM or email.
Thanks! |

By the way, one of the last things that Karl was working on was fixing a clock for my dashboard. Michelle, was kind enough to find it - all done, sitting on his desk. She sent it to me a few months after taking care of her dads memorial services. Thanks Michelle.
I just got through installing it.
Thanks Karl, we still miss you. And thanks Michelle, my instrument panel looks complete now. |

The stash is still very alive. Michelle and I have been in the 40ft Container the last few days organizing all the rest of the stash. I will be putting items up for sale under my name here on the Samba in the classifieds. There is an abundance of upholstery, tins, FI systems, Engine wiring harness's, tons of Westy parts.
I have been doing my research of these parts, but like my name even says, I'm a type 3 guy. So if any of you have anything you might need to finish off that build or need a few extra replacement complete dashboards, please PM me with what you are looking for if you don't see it in the classifieds.
I'm honored to be able to help Karl's Widow and Daughter get rid of the nest egg Karl left behind for them. Everything in this 40ft unit WORKS.... He had no junk!!

you show -0- items in ads in the last 6 months under Type3Buddha . What name are you listing them under? _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

Obviously he will be using his name Type3Buddha like he said he would.
He said "will be" which is the future. That's future and not the past.
Good pics of some of the seating and upholstery items. Hope in the future you post some pics of the other groupings of items so we get an idea of what specific to go look for in your classified adds. _________________ 71 Superbug

Desertbusman,
Thank you for stepping up on this since type3buddha posted this at 6:50 pm
and steve couldn't wait posting at 7:09 FOR the parts he WANTS.
And type3buddha said he would post as soon as possible.
Another in the NEVER ending reasons why I don't come here as often as I
would like.
I have a problem with inconsiderate people. and particularity those with
no moral fiber.
Karl was a friend long before either of us came to the SAMBA. _________________ V.W.owner since 1967 |

Yes I will be selling them under my name. Not new to The Samba, always been a buyer, and never a seller. We decided using Karl's username to sell the items could be misleading, so we are using my screen name.
As for other pictures. I currently have over 600 pictures of items, and group shots of the many items Karl had multiple of. I will be listing items tomorrow after I get done editing the photo's and writing out product descriptions.
If you would like anything specific please don't hesitate to PM me, as I might not have the Item in the classifieds section yet. There is A LOT of stuff. |

I am convinced that Karl rarely, if ever, threw anything worth keeping away.
Karl was a great guy and forgot more about buses than I will ever know. Pretty funny when he was feeling good. |

KARL only kept near mint stuff. I have yet to come across anything in this entire container that is broken, or junk. It is like being a kid on Christmas and getting to open up about 2000 presents Christmas morning.
I think I have responded back to all the PM's and I will be filling those.
Writing up the descriptions is what is taking 95% of the time.
I am thinking about taking a load of stuff to the VolksStock show this weekend in Nor Cal. Trying to hit shows to help get rid of all this stuff. Anyone know of any other shows within 7-10 hours of Portland that would be a great place to sell some of this Westy Gold? |

Let's play nice gentlemen! We all could stand to get along. Parts and good information is in short supply, so we Dubber must stick together! _________________ Special Thanks to:
