If they keep eliminating my route on Mondays I can be there on time, otherwise keep the party going til I get there and the more shingdigs the better Vermont Girl. Carterzest, I am offering to put in my two hands to help with the project as well. I am still kicking around the idea of a syncro tintop if anyone sees one out there. |

Should be about 40 vans, BBQ, kayaking good times
Oasis Resort in Maupin Orygun.
See wetwesties.org for some details.

Hey Pdx'ers
I have a firm plan for this up coming weekend at long last! Argyle winery in the downtown of charming Dundee Oregon will be the site of the GTG. I have double checked that the winery will be empty for our use. We have boche and ping pong and of course winery tours and tastings. I plan on being at the winery at 1pm cooking burger and dogs and veggie items so come on down. I figured we can hang out in the parking lot and talk vans, play games and I'll tour anyone interested through the winery. BYOB for beer! If we can get a loose roll call together I can make plans for food. Let know people! It will be good times had by all that show. Cheers

You can count on one van (with one person) from MN showing up in Dundee! There'll most likely be 2 soon-to-be converts with me (they seem to like vanagons!)
(my earlier comments about showing vans to someone turned out to be null... we're trying to talk him out of getting some sort of a van to live in... he's going into his 3rd year of pharmacy school, far too much change at a crucial time to do something as drastic as living in a van)
Anyway, see you folks soon! _________________ 1980 Full Camper, been in the family since it was brand new!

Anyone have experience adjusting the sliding door? Mine has never worked quite right since having the van repainted last year. Closes and slides fine but getting it to release for opening is the problem.
Thanks!! |

Tom at Halsey 503 256-0181, always has 5 or so parts vans onsite and could likely fix your issue in short order. Call in advance so he knows what you are looking for.....You may need to leave your van there for the day.....I would try Tom first and tell him Jeffrey sent you. He will take good care of you. If it is something that he can give you/sell you cheap and have you do it yourself, he will do that. He has helped me out countless times over the ownership of 17 of these vanagons
Also, Ashley at AlwaysVDub can help.
Bummed I cannot make the GTG Sunday at Argyle Winery...... _________________ Happiness=Portland, Oregon in the rearview mirror! |

Thanks for the suggestions. Yep, worked great until after paint...and there doesn't seem to be any paint on the latch. I think i'll give Tom or Ashley a call and let them check it out. Getting the latch to release and pop the slider open has become quite the production!
I can't make the winery get together this weekend...sounds like a blast though!

Whoa I almost missed the winery roll call! I'm in! Thanks for inviting us!
On an unrelated note, anyone interested in a nice Gary Lee ladder with spare tire carrier? I am thinking of going with a swing-away carrier instead. PM me if you're interested.
