I am wondering what carb i can use for a stock 40 horse? Everything i have hits the regulator against the choke & cut-off valve. I have bent manifolds before, and ran spacers & all that. Is my only option going with a 36hp carb? Maybe i should just relocate the regulator idk. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance, Conrad

do you have the correct generator backing plate installed? a 40hp backing plate will set the voltage regulator off to the right rather than sticking straight up like on a 36hp.

Aaaahhhh, that is the problem i bet. My regulator was sitting right on top like you mentioned. Now i will go hunt through my 6v generators for a different backing plate. Thanks a bunch!

Yes, Joe56vw i was trying a 28 pict carb with a electric choke
