Hi,
I just got the part below back from blasting and powder coating but it seems something went amiss with that and now the 2x flaps are all loose, could someone take a photo or explain what should be there to hold the flaps in place and allow them to swing?
Mine is just an open slot, and now the shafts just fall around in there !
Its the part below:
Thanks for the help Rich |

That's one part I would never consider refinishing like that. Each of the flap pivots rides in a captive plastic bushing, and from your description, it seems like yours are gone, now. Also, powder coating is too thick sometimes to allow all the flaps to seat properly. The good news is that these things are out there, availailable in used and NOS form.
If you have trouble finding one, let me know. |

Thanks guys, yes the plastic clips are gone, the remnants are there but melted during the powder coating
Yes maybe i shouldn't have bothered with that piece, looks like he forgot (and me too) to remove the clips first.
Thanks for the advice |

Thats a pretty big lack of detail on their part. THey have to get up close and personal to blast it, they should have experience in doing it. Or maybe you just got the shaft and payed money to monkeys _________________
