at least Franklinstower's user name is not a cryptic representation of "Going Where The Water Tastes Like Wine". I mean, how many people get the obscure Greatful Dead reference of your username
Good luck on the new van. Hope this little inconvenience is the last one of your trip home |

Which song you referring too?
The Promised Land was written by Chuck Berry and Going Down The Road Feeling Bad is a traditional song with unknown original source. _________________ '89 Westy - EJ25/22 Frank 4.44 5mt

Looks like the Woody Guthrie folks credit Woody with GDTRFB

The OP's story reminded me of - -
"The bus came by and I got on
That's when it all began. . ."
Hope he gets his Vanagon and gets a sweet road trip home! |

Rolla is the home of ft leonardwood where my grandad went to boot camp. Im actually on My way to st louis right now but im off home to illinois after that. Its good to be on leave. as I recall the vw community is scarce in the area of stl. Lots of road salt and rust there. But the dead scene there is strong ay least _________________ '90 Carat w/ '95 phase 1 EJ22 OBD2 conversion |

Exactly - though it seems to me that Woody just wrote a bunch more verses for 'Lonesome Road Blues' which is a traditional PD song. He needs to get credit for the verses but maybe not the melody. _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

Trivia, Rolla Mo. was settled by pioneers from Raleigh NC. They pronounce Raleigh with a southern drawl "Rolla". _________________ ☮️ |
