I searched the forum, but could not seem to find anything definitive. My problem, I recently purchased a 2001 weekender. The PO removed the second (folding) section of the upper bed board. It is supposed to be in storage somewhere, but efforts to date have been to no avail. Are the bed boards sections available for purchase? I had no luck searching the usual places.
Thanks in advance,

To my knowledge they aren't available new, but there is a weekender being parted here in the classifieds. If that doesn't work out, 3/4" plywood will get you there. _________________ '99 Eurovan Westfalia Weekender |

Thanks, Josh.
I managed to track down the PO. Now I am working on getting the errant parts from Colorado to Portland, Oregon (any one ever ship a rear facing passenger seat).
I'll give the plywood a try if I cannot get the parts in time for an upcoming trip.
Cheers. |

Doesn't GoWesty sell a new improved board for this? I believe it doesn't
sag like the OEM ones do. I don't have time to look it up myself but
you may want to check. _________________ Bill M

I've slept up top with my 2002 EV Weekender and there is definitely no sagging. I'm about 218lbs.
I may sell my two upper boards soon if anyone else is looking for some. I'm about to make a new set out of a nicer wood to upgrade the interior of the van. |

I might be interested in buying them if the PO doesn't get around to shipping the one she forgot to put back before she sold her rig to a wholesaler.
Too bad you are not closer to Portland, OR. The upper bed board I am waiting on is also in Colorado.
Thanks,

Many thanks for everyone's contributions - you are all an amazing resource!
I owned an '81 for over 20 years, 'lost' it in 2018, so many great memories. I just purchased a '95EV, good to be back in the community.
My new EV does not have the folding board for the pop topper. Any insight on where to source one, or how to build a replacement?
Please forward me to the appropriate link, I probably missed it!
Many thanks! |
